Trip to Science Museum 2023

We were very excited to visit the London Science Museum in celebration of the start of Science Week. We were able to spend time in the immersive Garden where we got to explore water, light, sound and block construction with our friends and families.

After lunch we visited the Pattern Pod where we observed patterns all around us through footsteps, magnetic tiles, fractals in nature, digital symmetry and movement activated dance cameras!

Lastly we had some time to explore the Space Gallery before catching the underground back to Wood Green station and hopping on the bus back to school. Some of the highlights of the visit according to the children were “sploshing the boats down the river into the big splash bowl”, “crazy colour dancing” and “using spaceman hands (gloves) to fix things”.

If you would like to continue the fascinating study of fractal patterns in nature you could take a look at the windows of our maths area for some inspiration or check out this video at home.
