Persona Dolls

The Persona Doll approach encourages inclusion and participation as well as the celebration of diversity and challenges to inequality and discrimination.

Persona dolls and their stories are a practical and enjoyable way to celebrate diversity, help children develop a positive attitude to differences and challenge stereotypes and prejudices

The dolls visit ‘Talking Time’ and help children with thinking about the following with their key person and peers.

  • fairness and equality
  • discrimination and stereotypes
  • communication and listening skills
  • self esteem
  • empathy, critical thinking, and problem solving

It involves telling stories using a ‘special’ Persona Doll. Through creating a lifelike persona for the doll, it becomes like another child. We have four Persona dolls they can be seen below
