Workshops for parents

 Following the suspension of our face to face workshops during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted to reintroduce workshops on site this academic year.

Haringey Adult Learning Service (HALs) will be running the following workshops:

ESOL Taster Session

Wednesday 6th October 2021

12.30 – 2.30pm

Come along to a taster session for ESOL facilitated by Haringey Adult Learning Service, you will be assessed on your level.

The session will be on

  • Using the Children’s Centre
  • Sharing information

As well as assessing you.

Parenting out of Lockdown series


Wednesday 20th October 2021


12.45 – 2.15pm

Session 1: How to support communication with your children  

o How to listen so children want to talk about their emotions and experiences

o How to give praise so children want to repeat good behaviours

o How to limit screen time

o How to encourage children to read more


Wednesday 10th November 2021

Session 2: How to set boundaries

o How to set up routines to avoid power struggles,

o  How to introduce rules for the family to follow,

o How to build good habits and reward children for good behaviour,

o How to stay consistent (even when it's easier not to)

Session 3: How to get everyone in the family to get along

o How to create a positive environment at home so your kids can thrive

o How to resolve conflict (with your children)

o How to help your child feel part of your family, culture, and community

o How to encourage physical activity,

Starting School; Reception Admissions Workshop

Parent Sculpture Workshop

Cath our resident Artist will be working with parents/carers to facilitate ideas and suggestions to plan for a new large scale sculpture.

Online Safety Workshop

As its Safer Internet Day this workshop will be sharing knowledge with parents and carers so you can ensure you are keeping your children safe online.

The session will look at skills you can teach your children from an early age and signpost you to a range of resources you can use.
